Elisabet, a founding member of Roots Explosion Arts (REA) and the current acting director, is a harbinger of innovation in the realm of jam roller skating. Her journey towards pioneering a new genre of roller skating commenced with a transformative visit to Uganda in 2023.
Imbued with a deep-seated passion for dance and acrobatics, Elisabet was drawn to Uganda's vibrant arts scene, where she encountered a plethora of exceptionally gifted youth. Participating in workshops in Kampala, she was awe-struck by the sheer magnitude of talent nestled within the heart of Uganda.
"The experience was incredibly amazing," Elisabet exclaims, "witnessing the sheer artistry of these performers was nothing short of revelatory."
An ardent jam roller skater, Elisabet found herself deeply inspired by the rhythmic prowess displayed by the Ugandan dancers. It was during this seminal trip that the seeds of a groundbreaking idea were sown in her mind โ to amalgamate her adeptness in roller skating with the mesmerizing dance movements indigenous to Uganda, birthing an entirely novel style of jam skating.

Revolutionizing Ugandan Dance with 256 Jam Roller Skating
At Roots Explosion Arts, we're excited about a new project revolutionizing dance and acrobatics in Kampala, Uganda. It merges traditional dance, street dance, breakdancing, and hip-hop with roller skating to introduce a fresh form of expression.
The project focuses on creating 256 Jam roller skating, blending Ugandan dance forms into an exciting skating experience. It offers training and workshops for dancers and acrobats to adapt their styles to skating, emphasizing balance and coordination. Performers receive free training to build the skills and confidence for this journey. As the project progresses, dancers will blend traditional and street dance with roller skating at the Roller Disco. The 256 Roller Skate Jam will showcase Ugandan dance with skating, aiming to create an inclusive and exhilarating experience. The project seeks to ignite a cultural renaissance in Kampala, Uganda.
